This uncut bone saddle set is factory fresh and will require some minor adjustment / fine tuning. Please read the item description carefully and look at the photographs as they are part of the description. Other items shown in photographs are for display purposes only and are not included in the sale. ~ The Takamine TP0709AE saddle set is designed exclusively for Takamine Pro Series instruments that have factory installed electronics. ~ If your guitar DOES NOT have electronics this is not the right saddle set for you. The TP0709A Saddle set is designed for Takamine Pro Series Acoustic Guitars that DO NOT have factory installed elctronics and are also available on eBay from AddictedToToneInc The TP0709AE saddle is made for Pro Series guitars WITH factory installed electronics. ~ Other saddle components and parts are available from AddictedToToneInc ~ What is a “Factory Blank Saddle” A “Factory Blank Saddle” is an unfinished saddle that is cut to approximate size and preshaped but will need to be finish sanded to exact size to match the saddle slot of a specific Takamine guitar model and to provide the string height preferred by the end user. The radius and top profile of the saddle will arrive in finished condition; what will need to be sanded are the side(s) and possibly the bottom of the saddle. A Factory Blank Saddle will often have some unevenness and even occasionally a minute chip on the bottom or side of the saddle that is still in unfinished condition. This is NOT a defect; this is common to the unfinished Takamine bone saddle; these areas will be removed upon the sanding required to finish the saddle. These are the same Takamine saddle blanks used by technicians at the Takamine factory in Japan. PLEASE NOTE: Factory Blank Saddles are built specifically with Right or Left handed saddle profiles and can not be interchanged. If you need a Left Handed profile saddle please contact AddictedToToneInc regarding their availability. ~ BONE SADDLE TIP FROM BILL: A finger nail EMERY BOARD is perfect for finishing the saddle. A medium to coarse grade sand paper will remover material quickly, a fine grade sand paper should be used to finish. The side of the saddle that touches the pearloid “DOT” does not need to be adjusted only the “center” edge of the saddle may need rounding to match the saddle slot perfectly. If material needs be taken from the bottom of the saddle to lower string action or the sides of the saddle (if the saddle is to tight do not force it into the slot) make sure the emery board is laying on a flat service and move the saddle across it while the emery board remains motionless. Bass Saddle Length: 1 13/16th / 46mm “Tall” side (G string) 27/64th / 10.65mm 27/64ths is slighter larger than 3/8ths and smaller than 7/16ths “Short” side (Low E string) 11/32nd / 9.0mm Treble Saddle Length: 1” / 25.50mm “Tall” side (B string) 27/64th / 10.65mm 27/64ths is slighter larger than 3/8ths and smaller than 7/16ths “Short” side (High E string) 5/16th / 8.0mm Thickness 7/64th / 2.75mm 7/64th is slightly less than 1/8th Actual Measurements may vary slightly due to manufacturing process. The vintage preamps and used components sold by AddictedToToneInc pass through this same testing process. Non electronic parts like Tuners, Nuts, Saddles are carefully inspected and tested; any part that requires assembly is assembled. Many sellers do not possess a working knowledge of the Takamine equipment they are selling and simply send merchandise without examining the item being sold. As a guitarist, artist and former touring musician I understand how important this equipment is to the individual purchasing it; most of my customers are casual players but for some of my clients the part being purchased is needed for work and making a livelihood – an extended downtime can make for some potentially hungry days!
