Listing is for 3 pieces – 1 Ruthie Smithens American Girl Doll 18 inch Retired Best Friend to Kit Kittredge, 1 Red Dress Unknown Maker / No Tags, and 1 Red/Maroon Velvet Strappy Shoe (Tallina’s) Missing Mate + Heel Pleasant Rowland founded the American Girl Doll company in 1986, and sold the company to Mattel in 1998. This 18 inch Doll is Ruthie Smithens, the final «Best Friend» doll released by the company. She is from the year 1932 and she’s featured in stories of the historical girl Kit Kittredge. She uses the classic face mold, which is marked by the artist near her right ear, she has the Mattel star marks on her limbs, and she has the original style eyebrows. Her tag dates 2008. Her eyes open and close with ease and her limbs are tight, and very posable. She has long, curly brown hair (which is a little dry) and striking gray eyes which look almost greenish or hazel at times. She does NOT come with her original clothes, but she comes with a free dress (maker unknown) and 1 Red Velvet Mary Jane Meet shoe without its mate or heel, I think one of Tallina’s. The dress has some damage (holes) and both the dress and shoes are included free.
