This is an antique chromolithograph (colored lithograph) print from PUCK Magazine, a political satire magazine published in 1890 that was very popular in its day, and continues to be popular among collectors of political memorabilia today. TEXT: ARE WE BECOMING A NATION OF MENDICANTS – THE VISION OF A VICTIM OF THE BEGGING EPIDEMIC ARTIST: OPPER, SIGNED IN PLATE CONDITION: EXCELLENT — This chromolithograph print is clear, clean, very colorful and bright with no foxing, tears or folds — a really fine image with excellent definition, nice sharp lines, and wide margins. (Note: A few light / soft waves from being in a bound volume of issues.) The print is about 130 years old and guaranteed to be original. It is an authentic old print from the aforementioned magazine and NOT A MODERN REPRODUCTION.The visible part of the print, including the off-white border (if any) is about 9 1/4″ x 12 1/2″. Matted the print measures 12″ x 16″. This is a standard size matte that will fit into a standard size frame. ALL OF OUR MATTED PRINTS ARE WRAPPED IN A CLEAR CELLOPHANE ENVELOPE THAT PROTECTS THE PRINT DURING SHIPPING AND IS PERFECT FOR GIFT GIVING.
